You will be training for a Light Aircraft Pilot Licence. This entitles you to fly aircraft within that class up to a maximum take-off mass of 2000kg, in the UK, for private and recreational purposes only. You may carry up to a maximum of 3 passengers but only after acquiring a further 10 hours experience. The licence permits Visual Flight Rules flight only and an instrument rating cannot be added. The LAPL is a sub-ICAO licence and cannot be used outside the UK.
This licence may be upgraded to a full UK PPL, on completion of an upgrade course.
Costs can be minimised by doing the following:
- Flying regularly: once a week is fine.
- Keeping up with the theoretical knowledge training: this complements your flying.
- Look out the window and fly visually: it's not a flight simulator
Flying time is charged at our normal dual rate and payment is requested at the end of each individual lesson. For hourly training rates see our Price List.
We're always happy to discuss individual needs, so please feel free to give us a call on 07729 776206 or 07985 039718.
